Home..(But Not Alone)
I have been working from home for a while now, and most days, it's just me and my dogs completing our projects (although they mostly sleep while I work). It's easy to fall into a routine and start taking the day-to-day for granted. However, one sunny morning, I decided to start cleaning and reorganizing the house. As I moved things around, I realized that our home is filled with a great "cabinet of curiosities." The bold patterns and shadows that fill the house due to the windows that stream in sunlight most of the day through big plantation shutters, combined with our eclectic collection of "stuff" accumulated over decades, create a unique and engaging atmosphere. Our minimalist and linear decorating aesthetic complements this, making for a fascinating combination.
As I began to recognize all the light and textures that take place throughout the day, I was inspired to capture this on camera. This collection represents a series of stylized photos that showcase the textures, design, and light that I find in my home where I'm never alone.
