It’s Time To Show My Work

Today I want to share how reading "Show Your Work" by Austin Kleon has inspired me to take action and start sharing my creative journey with a broader audience.

Kleon's philosophy is that the best way to get your work noticed is to share it with others. He encourages artists, writers, and creatives of all types to leverage the reach of online networks to showcase your work and connect with others who appreciate your creativity.

After reading "Show Your Work," I realized that I have been holding back for far too long. I post sporadically to my Facebook and Instagram pages and even more occasionally on TikTok, but I have lacked consistency. I have a lot of ideas and passions around cooking, entertaining and travel, but I also am very engaged in how we start bringing our peers together to connect. And I always love to explore new technology and the advent of AI is both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. However,I haven't been putting my content out there for others to see. I've been hesitant to share my work, afraid of criticism or rejection.

Kleon's book has shown me that sharing our journey is not only important, but it will also be incredibly rewarding. When we create platforms where we can share our content, we can connect with others who share our interests, learn from their feedback, and grow as creators.

So, I've decided to take the leap and start producing a website to share my journey and the things I am working on. Through my website and my social media platforms, I want to create useful content that others can benefit from and also connect with like-minded individuals who share my interests.

By sharing my work and journey, I hope to inspire others to explore their own creativity and show their unique perspectives to the world. Whether you're an artist, writer, musician, or just someone who enjoys creating, "Show Your Work" can be a powerful tool to help you get started.

If you're holding back and not sharing your work, I encourage you to read the book and take a leap or just a baby step off the edge if that’s where you need to start. The world is waiting to see what you have to offer!
